WorXgates were created in direct response to a customer request for a reasonably priced automatic lock gate to replace manual lock versions on older hopper cars which were repeatedly being damaged by high torque automatic gate openers. WorXgates met this challenge and thousands have been installed successfully upgrading the manual lock weld on gates to a GEAPS required automatic lock thus minimizing damage and maximizing unloading efficiency.
In addition all WorXgate models are built with extended flanges making them an almost universal replacement for multiple styles of older gates. The installer simply cuts off the old gate slightly higher on the hopper and creates a new set of working points. The rack and pinion are the same as the ones used on AEROgates resulting in low opening torques and with the door hold down lugs eliminate door skipping.
In many cases purchasing a WorXgate is actually less expensive than buying the parts to repair an older style gate with damaged locks or damaged or missing door slides.
