Cover Kits for Hopper Car Conversion
Is the covering system on your car obsolete? Does the service sector require a different cover style? Are specialized parts or greater loading flexibility required? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then an ATP conversion kit is your answer. Kits are available to convert steel torsion bar covers to fiberglass or aluminum parts in conventional arrangements with batten bars or to one of our patented Quantum systems.
Need to change the car from 20” or 30” rounds to a trough style system? You provide the trough coaming and we’ll do the rest.
Just follow three simple steps and your converted car is ready to roll.
- Complete the "Trough Conversion Kit ID" form and fax or email to us.
- Remove all existing hardware from the car and using ATP supplied instructions and drawings weld the new brackets and locks into place. For large scale conversion programs, we provide tooling fixtures or a set of fixture covers to assist in hardware placement at no additional charge. If questions arise, ATP is only a phone call away.
- Drop on the new cover system and the car is ready to ship. Most conversions can be completed in 12 -16 man hours.
